Justaskmeout's Top 5 Spring date ideas
Spring is the time of year we are all tempted to step out of the house and make the most of the longer, warmer days and we've got some great date ideas perfect for this time of year.
Spring Date Idea 1: The Boat Race Date
No - we don't mean that you race each other in a boat. We are talking about The Boat Race - one of London's key sporting events of the spring which occurs every springtime.
The Oxford vs. Cambridge university boat race makes an ideal date idea. It’s not your typical date activity, but teamed with a romantic stroll down the beautiful river Thames and ending at a spot where you can watch the teams battle it to the finish line, there is nothing stopping you making this date one to remember. Why not add a bit of healthy competition and both pick a team to cheer on? The person cheering on the losing team can buy the drinks at one of the many pubs, bars and restaurants along the course and it’s a perfect excuse to spend a bit more time together once the race has finished.
Get on Justaskmeout.com now and find someone who catches your eye to share a fun experience at this unique and historic sporting event.

Spring Date Idea 2: The City Farm Date
Spring brings a theme of new life and fresh starts, so where better to start a possible new beginning with a date, than at an inner city London Farm. Ok, so it may not sound like the most romantic place to spend a date, but it’s a fun alternative to the traditional date ideas you may have already considered and trust us, different stands out!
Take your date to see the lambs and other baby animals at one of the many city farms dotted around London, and make the most of this special time of year. Being outside and seeing things you don’t come across every day provides easy conversation.
There are a number of different farms in and around London. Two inner city farms that stood out to us were Spitalfields City Farm and Surrey Docks Farm. Both are community driven farms and hold livestock as well as small animals. They both also have gardens you can take a stroll in.
Celebrate spring with somebody special and make the most of being outdoors in our versatile and beautiful city.

Spring Date Idea 3: The Bloomin' Marvellous Date Idea
We are all welcoming the lighter mornings and evenings at the moment, and everything seems a little brighter now the Spring flowers are in bloom and we are getting further into Spring.
The daffodils, or “daffs” as a Kiwi friend called them this week, are a bloomin’ big time all around London. One of our favourite places to date on these Spring days is Hyde Park, and round this time of year it is a hive of activity and buzzing atmosphere. Boating on the Serpentine opens in April and it is a fun activity to partner up with a walk through the expanses of greenland in the heart of London. You and your date can rent a row boat for two and float across the beautiful lake; or team up and take a pedalo for a spin. It makes a perfect opportunity to date whilst taking in the blooming flowers and Spring-filled scenes around you.

Spring Date Idea 4: The heart-melting chocolate date idea
The springtime brings us lots of lovely things to enjoy… sunny days, spring flowers in bloom, big sporting events to watch, but it also brings the perfect excuse to indulge in all things chocolate! Easter is fast approaching and we have a chocolate themed date which is bound to get your date melting for you.
It is scientifically proven that eating chocolate with your date will make them (and you!) happy. There is a unique compound in cocoa (called Theobromine) which has been shown to stimulate the brain’s production of the mood-lifting chemical, dopamine. So if you want a happy date, guaranteed, pick one of our chocolate-based date suggestions below and you’ll be in for a treat. Fact!
We recommend The Chocolate House Tour (runs once a month, £15pp). They say you will “witness how a thick, luxuriant, exotically spiced glop called chocolate conquered Baroque Europe and corrupted the most fashionable quarter of London, spawning sexually-charged hotbeds of decadence, depravity and despair that Londoners came to call chocolate houses”. “Fascinating” said The Guardian. “Awesome Easter Date Idea” said we.
If the timings of this tour don’t work for you then try the Chocolate Tour of London instead which runs every Sat/Sun at 12 and 3pm. You get 7 different tastings over the 2.5 hour tour which has been rated 5 stars. Tickets are a little pricey at £30 but you can get 2-4-1 if you have a National Rail ticket.
If it’s a second or third date you could jump on the bus to Oxford and go to The Chocolate Festival, a chocolate exhibition filled with a barrage of multi-sensory, chocolaty thrills. Taking place this weekend (18-19th April) in Oxford you can experience all the great chocolate treats on offer such as sipping hot chocolate, munching Easter eggs, tasting truffles and even trying out cocoa inspired beauty products, all for £5-15pp.
If you really want to push the chocolate boat out, then you could book onto a chocolate-making workshop at MyChocolate (£49pp) and impress each other and see who can make the tastiest chocs.
Warning: This date is recommended for chocolate lovers only!
Where: Oxford and various locations in London
When: The Chocolate Festival is 19-20th April but there are chocolate-based date options all year round.
How Much: From £6 to £49
